I'm fundraising for MATES in Construction

I am excited to announce that throughout April, I will be taking on the physical and fundraising challenge of the MATES Long Lap 2026.

I will be running or cycling for the month of April or until I reach my 100km goal. Its not just for the physical challenge but something much bigger than myself.

As a man who has worked in the construction industry for over 2 decades with some of the staunchest men you will meet. I have learned we do not open and reach out for help when we are struggling mentally. We become very good at hiding what we are carrying and just wearing it well enough that on the outside it looks like we are fine…. until we aren’t. Mental health struggles can be revealed in many different forms whether its reaching for the bottle or bong and in worse cases a gun or a rope.

This run is about pushing through discomfort, doubt and fatigue- just like many people do every day with their mental health. Every kilometre is a reminder that even when things feel overwhelming, progress is still possible. I’m doing this to raise awareness, start conversations and support those who might be struggling. If this journey encourages even one person to speak up and seek help, then every step will be worth it.
